Flowers in your hair in San Francisco

Hello all,

Sorry it has been a while since I last wrote.
Our last few days in Vancouver were pretty awesome and bittersweet.
I definitely got to feel like Vancouver was becoming home; maybe one day it will be.
Jason was such a great host while we were there and I will definitely miss the slobbering of Koda and Griffin (his dogs).

We arrived in San Francisco on Sunday and we have had fun-filled days so far.
San Francisco is such a quaint town.
I got here and I didn't really know what I wanted to do or see because I was told that the best way to see San Francisco was to just walk around the different areas and explore.
We have already seen a lot of different areas and we're getting a good taste of the city from some locals.
The weather in San Francisco has not been as good as the weather was in Vancouver but I think we got a little spoiled with that weather.

The next few days are sure to be great! We have them all planned out and we are pretty excited for having a picnic in Golden Gate Park on Saturday!

Updates will be few and far between until we're home because internet/computer use is a little more scarce here!
Miss and love you all

Victoria and beyond!

Hello all,

I do apologize for the time/days between posts but we are so busy doing things that I hardly have time to sit down and write a post!
For those of you who gave me your addresses and requested a postcard, they will be on their way to you very soon! :)
We got back from Victoria yesterday; we had been there since Monday.
Victoria was a very pretty capital city by the water. We were staying outside of the city in a place called Sooke which was SO much further than we thought it would be. The public transportation system there is quite extensive but it takes SO long!
Regardless of where we were (THE BOONIES) we had a great time in Victoria but we were also excited to come back to Vancouver.
We had a very long day of commuting yesterday. We left Sooke at 11:45 in the morning and did not get back to Richmond (where we're staying in Van) until almost 5pm!

In Victoria we got a real taste of what you can do in the boonies; hike!
We took a beautiful hike that led us down to an even more impressive beach. We hung out on the beach for a while (almost 2 hours) and then decided that dinner was calling our names. Both nights that we stayed in Sooke we had bonfires (which Jen loved because she loves fires). Our clothing now smells like fire and we will be very glad to do some laundry in the next few days!

We only have three more days in Vancouver before we head out to San Francisco. We were so busy being tourists in Vancouver at the beginning that we have yet to see what Vancouver has to offer.
We're so excited to be exploring the city for the next few days and hopefully discover some very cool parts of town!

Hope everyone at home is doing great and that the weather improves (we've heard Toronto weather has not been the greatest!)

In closing I'd just like to say GO PENS!! (Game 7 tonight!!!)

Love and miss you all

Crazy days in Vancouver (+whistler)

Hello all,

The last few days in Vancouver have been fun-filled, long, but sooo worth it! Before coming to the city we decided to get this sightseeing 'smart card' that would allow us to reap the benefits of everything that this city has to offer but for a fraction of the price!
We wanted to make sure we made the card worth it so we did the following things: Aquarium, Chinese Gardens, Boat Cruise, Sea Safari at Horseshoe Bay, Capilano Suspension Bridge, as well as topping off with a trip to Whistler yesterday!
All of these things were really awesome (except maybe the Chinese Gardens, which we were glad we did not have to pay for).
Vancouver is a really pretty city; at almost every glance you either see a body of water or mountains. It reminds me a lot of New Zealand because you had a lot of the same views.
All of our mornings since getting here have been really early and today is the first day that we have been able to sleep in (which has been lovely).
We are off to Kitts Beach today; which I am told is near the UBC campus and is like a mix of Queen West meets Bloor West Village (high park).
We've really seen all of the tourist-y stuff that Van has to offer but we've yet to really get a feel of the city. When I travel, I really like to get to know the city and stop feeling like a tourist. Hopefully that time is coming soon (after we head to Victoria, of course).
Before leaving I was told that a week and a half in BC was going to be too long but I'm beginning to feel like it won't be enough time. There are so many placs that I know I won't have the time to see because they are a little too far and don't really fit our schedule or the way we will be traveling.
I hope that all of you at home are enjoying the beginning of summer and that you have had some more pleasant weather.
The weather here has been stunning (they hit record highs when we first arrived) and seems as though it will be consistent.
Suggestions are always welcome but know that our time is limited.

Love and miss you all xxoxx

p.s: we saw a black bear yesterday!

Welcome to Vancouver

Van city is SO awesome so far. We had a pretty fun-filled day but made sure to relax as well.
We are pretty tired now and are happy that we were able to stay up this late (11:20pm van time.. if the clocky thing is wrong on the bottom.

Will have a real update when I feel like it :)

Flight was also good. We were able to get seats together in the end; thanks to a very nice little old lady :)

Bye for now

Pre-Travel

It is early Sunday morning and I am really starting to get excited for my trip. As things are slowly starting to fall into place and we know we'll have somewhere to sleep every night (for no cost) I can feel a tad better.
The next few days will be filled with last minute purchases, packing and goodbyes.

Wednesday could not come sooner
